Wedding Cake FAQ

How much cake do we need?

If you would like your wedding cake to be a dessert portion then you will need at the very least, one portion for each guest. If you are serving your cake in addition to other deserts then you may prefer cocktail sized portions. In our experience, too much cake is a delightful problem in comparison to some guests going without.

Do you provide cake decorating ribbons?

We have a small selection of ribbons but we prefer that you provide your own so you can have exactly what you want. We request that the ribbon be delivered to us at least a week in advance of your wedding date.

Who provides flowers for my wedding cake?

We leave the fresh flowers for you to order through your florist so they match your wedding flowers. We request that you bring us the flowers the day before.

Are your cakes nut/flour/dairy free?

All our cakes are nut free; however, nuts are an ingredient that we use in our bakery. For that reason we can not guarantee our cakes to those with severe allergies. The chocolate symphony cake can be made flourless upon request. All our cakes have dairy in them.

Do you deliver?

With in the Greater Victoria area, delivery and set up of your cake is 50$. In most situations we do not deliver to private homes or community halls. Your cake is available for pick-up at our shop. As we are closed on Sunday, all Sunday cakes must be picked up at our shop on Saturday.

Can I pick up my cake?

We will pre arrange a time for your cake to be ready at your requested time. Our retail hours of operation: Monday 7:00-5:30pm, Tuesday - 7:30 - 5:30pm, Saturday 9 - 5:00pm

Do you rent cake stands?

We have a selection of cake and cupcake stands available for rent. A credit card number is required for cake stand rentals and metal cake support platforms. Metal cake support platforms are used to support and provide structure for our wedding cakes. It’s very important that you arrange with venue or catering staff to safe keep this equipment as it is custom made and expensive to replace. In the event of damage, or a missed return, credit cards are charged the full price of the cake stand.

How much do your cakes cost?

Wedding cake costs can range quite dramatically, size and time spent creating your Delicious masterpiece are the main factors. Please contact us, will be happy to give you a quote or an idea of a price range that can expected.

When is Payment due?

Payment is due in full two weeks prior to your wedding. We accept Visa, MasterCard, debit or cash.

What is your cancellation policy?

Your 100$ booking deposit is non-refundable. Your wedding cake must be paid in full two weeks prior to your wedding and in most cases this is non-refundable as well.

Cake consultations

We encourage you to call us to book an appointment for a cake consultation and cake sampling. You will have the opportunity to view our of specialty wedding cakes, sample our cake fillings and discuss your wedding cake ideas with our cake experts. For this consultation we suggest that you bring your ideas, magazine clippings or color swatches. After we have a greater understanding of your wedding cake requests, event logistics and other practical information we will then be able to provide a wedding cake quote. Please be aware that some cakes require refrigeration and many Victoria venues do not have extra fridge space so it’s best to have your venue booked before finalizing your wedding cake details. We do book summer and fall dates well in advance and recommend that you secure your wedding date with a non-refundable 100$ deposit at the time of your cake consultation.
